Capturing Chance in Time (Created during a three-year stay in Japan)

I build a relationship between precision and chance – proving that discipline does not negate randomness and chance itself can be a way to tune in to the world around us. Uniting two distinct techniques, the vitality of glass on the blowpipe interacts with the cold precision of cast glass. For me glass is both a material of chance mutations and precisely calculated processes; both hot and cold, fluid and solid. My work form shapes oscillating between fluid and fixed states, trying to make tangible what would otherwise remain immaterial.
